Philosophy.

“When I’m working on a problem, I never think about beauty. I think only how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong.” Bucky Fuller

I’m a self-taught master craftsman and a juried member of the Guild of Vermont Furniture Makers. I approach woodworking with deep passion and sincerity, and I’m dedicated to creating pieces that meet the unique needs of each client. Most of my work is commissioned, allowing me to collaborate closely with clients to bring their visions to life. My style is broad and influenced by many traditions, but it’s always grounded in three guiding principles: function, quality, and imagination.

My portfolio is defined by clean lines, balanced proportions, precise dovetailing, and practical functionality. I’m a firm believer that form should follow function—if it’s not absolutely functional, it’s not furniture; it’s art. A piece has to look the way you want it to, and it has to do its job.

I rely on traditional joinery and hand-select every piece of raw material I use, paying close attention to grain and color variations. I can design and build in any solid hardwood, and every finished piece receives a hand-rubbed finish to bring out the wood’s natural beauty.

This website serves as my virtual showroom. In each gallery, you’ll find furniture I’ve designed and built for individual clients. You might see something that fits your space perfectly—or find inspiration to start a conversation about a custom design. If you already know what you’re looking for but don’t see it here, please reach out. I’d love to talk with you.
